Have you noticed spectrums of nature? If you look at sounds, colors, tastes, and touches many things we can observe are in a spectrum.
Lets look at electromagnatic spectrum, which includes, from radiowaves, microwaves to x-rays and gamma rays. Visible light as we know, is also stuck in this. If we look at visible light closely we can see, individual colors we see are also a spectrum by themselves. Lets take red color for inspection. "Red" although we name it consisit of part of the spectrum gradually changing from pink to orange. There are thousands or millions of shades of red although we cannot identify them separately.
Similarly sounds that we hear are on its own spectrum. From intensity, frequency they differ from moment to moment.
So, what is the use of knowing this? I cannot agree more. It can be just a knowlege. Also it will give us another perspective to look at the world. Lets imagine you are at the beach. Looking at the beautiful sunset, red color globe sinking in the sea, painting the sky with marvellous crimson and orange shades. Is it true? The truth is it is likely not one red, one crimson or one orange color that you see. Since you have been to the beach there were thousands of shades of red , crimson and orange which have been changing momemt to moment, too fast for your eyes to grab and mind to comprehend. So, at human comprehension level it is true. But at the level of nature it may be not true.
But why you would ask. Why shouldn't I just enjoy the sunset?
Not at all. I am not suggesting we shouldn't enjoy sunsets. But the problem with our mind is it always tries to extract something out of anything. But it seems the mind is not capable of seeing what is really happening at the moment. Whatever the memory, the light the image or the thought it generates seems not the exact thing which happens. Its just an interpretation which is true only for per person.
I would rather live in a dream knowing it's a dream. Would you?
