There was a boy, on a bench in a park.
Sitting like a statue in bronze, his eyes glazed with a spark.
And he stared and stared with emptiness in his heart.
Although there were plenty to make a start.
He could have kicked from his feet, when the ball rolled.
He could have smiled when she looked back that pretty girl,
when she strolled.
He could have spoken, shout or sing, nobody kept him on hold.
And I embraced the emptiness he shared without any words.

Embracing Emptiness - Winter Version.
The boy kept his poise
hope in his frozen eyes
While the wind battered the park
with a cover of downy flakes of ice
I hear them mutter away
The passers by in dismay
What a tragedy, they sighed
Couldn't complaint they had no time
Tomorrow I will be there for you
I promised myself
To embrace the emptiness
again and again in silence
