"A man will get his first bouquet of flowers on his death."
It was a random quote on the internet let me wonder about flowers. Why are flowers such a beautiful innovation of nature. Why are we attracted to them?
Purpose of flowers.
It is true flowers are wonderful presentations from nature. But before us humans, flowers are really attracted by our tiny friends, insects. Really speaking nature did not have modern day man's needs in mind when they created flowers. The whole purpose of flowers was to attract pollinators, bees, bugs and all variety of animals to spread their pollen. Those bees were far more important to flowers. Colors are for them, aroma is for them, tiny drop of honey and plenty of pollen for them. If it wasn't for flowers, bees wouldn't survive and vice versa.
Let us deviate from the interaction of flowers and insects and look at flowers by themselves. If you haven't watched Sir, David Attenborough's series about flowers, I recommend you watch it as he would narrate far better than me about flowers. Yet, we will discuss few more observations about flowers, in a different point of view, than traditional.
Beauty of a flower.
You will see flowers almost everywhere on our planet. Sometimes in very harsh places. In a crack on a rock, on a slippery mountain slope. You may see a flower on a muddy river side. When we look at flowers, we can see that they do not care where they are. They are bounded by a purpose to the world, and they are here to do it. Imagine a lotus flower. It roots from a deep mud in a pond. Traversing through the dirt, it surfaces and when its time open up its Petels. Outer more darker ones first. When you go from layer-by-layer colors are more bright and purer.
Beauty of a mind
A flower has the energy and means to create beauty in most unexpected places. So does our minds. It doesn't matter where you were born. A human mind can be so pure, and it can rise within itself to add to the beauty of the nature. There are enough examples from our history to prove the point. Some of them changed the course of nations. Let it be Nelson Mandela, let it be Martin Luther King Jr. We all have the seeds of this ability to become a beautiful mind. Sometimes it just needs, time and nature, until it reaches above the deep waters. Even if it doesn't change the world, it will serve its purpose.
How about you? How are you going to create the peace in your mind inside the chaotic world?
In summary : beauty of a flower - beauty of a mind.
Flowers are created with a true purpose of spread of genetics of a plant, beauty is a side effect.
Like a flower is serving its purpose anywhere it is bloomed, and beauty lies inside, mind has power inherently, if you are willing to look more and more insides of it.
On the ruins in Rome -poem.
I was hopping on a fallen wall in ruins of Rome.
From cracks they stood up a tiny biome
To prove a point, I captured it in my lenses.
And looked at it again, in comfort in my home.
From earth that recovered from battles so vicious
Stood the celestial beauty so precious.
Serving the purpose of life, she possesses
Swaying in the wind, in natures canvass
