A criminal
Once upon a time there was a criminal. He had conducted a great criminal activity and punished by the Judge. He had to be imprisoned lifetime. Or executed immediately or He could work in the community care entire life, under supervision, but he is free to walk anywhere he likes.
At this point, I have to give you a clear view about the objective of the article as some of you may not going to like the end results. The objective of the article is to show you a fact which we take for granted and only after reading the complete article you would understand this little truth, and you will obviously forget it when you move to the next page of your scrolling. Yet I want you to understand and remember the message and come back when the waves of your life hit you hard that you break up in tears one day in a matter of years or decades. And read the rest of the articles for meaning of life.
Now I want you to think at note what would be your choice, if you were the criminal in this case?
Choices are,
Imprisoned for life
Executed immediately
community work under supervision
A little man
I am sure you are inclined to take the choice 3, as I was. Until I read the second part of the story. After you have chosen the community work, you were taken to an orphanage, and you were given the task of taking care of a little man. Obviously, this man did not have legs, he could not walk, so you should carry him on your back whenever you walk. You should feed this man three times a day and give water as necessary. You have to groom him. However, when he is full stomach and no other needs you are free to do as you wish. You can carry this man to any vacation you wish in any cruise you wanted. You are free to walk.
The question is does it feel like a good deal now?
At this time what are your choices? Life imprisoned may feel better, and even if you would not agree some of may chose even execution would be a better choice, as daunting as the task is to take care of the little man all your life. Ah, and also if you are gender biased you can imagine this is a little woman.
Obviously at this point all the three choices seems equal for someone. As the value of the task three has markedly reduced for some of us selfish like me.
The message.
Now the real question is who is this little man you are carrying all your life? That is called your body. I am not telling you to dishearten you. Obviously, you may not understand the weakness of your body until you pay attention to it when it becomes diseased. As long as you keep good care of this little man from morning till night, he will function well and be happy. But the task is hard and can be unbearable for some, who choose the option 1 or 2 even. Some of you may have different views about this, that it is not so. For them I ask to imagine a utopia where you are not needed to eat and drink, and you will fill your stomach with sunlight or a tree. And compare this with all the tasks that you did today from morning till night to keep that hungry belly filled.
For the ones who are at end of the life, or enough wisdom to agree to the above fact, I apologize to break the illusion of the life is inherently positive, but do not confuse that it is negative either. There can be silver lining even in the dark cloud, a glimpse of hope. As mindfulness has the potential to lead us to a utopia where there are no problems in our lives by understanding it as its valuelessness with wisdom. Until then let us join together to sleep our camels together.
If you ask Socrates, Carl Jung or even Vincent Van Gogh, they will wow to the fact that life is too painful and might even prove you with a severed ear!
